Take Your Place in History

Pettibone’s Tavern

“The restaurant keeps the tavern name more as a nod to its Revolutionary War history than because of any barroom atmosphere. The place has more of the privileged feel of a country club than the reveling of a pub. The tavern was built in 1780 as a stagecoach stop between Boston and Albany and had its share of visitors from the American history books; it’s thought that John Adams and George Washington would have both stopped there at one time or another. What’s more, the house is said to have a ghost.”
